The Committee

All YTP activities are planned and executed by a voluntary committee. The committee is voted in once per year by the membership base. The below committee is the third elected since the group was founded in 2014.

Jessica ghaleb, president

Jessica is currently a Track and Civil engineer for Jacobs working across both heavy rail and light rail projects. In her role, Jess is currently undertaking various design engineer works including track alignment design and design for associated civil infrastructure, as well as design coordination and project management roles.

victoria burke, secretary

Victoria is a 3rd year Civil Engineering Graduate at Metro Trains Melbourne. Victoria has completed rotations in Rollingstock working on the Comeng fleet, Projects on the Bayswater Level Crossing Removal Project, Infrastructure in the Structures and Facilities and Track departments and is now working in the Engineering department.

Betty currently works at AECOM, where she works as an Accountant and Assistant to the Finance Manager. In her role, Betty is responsible for monitoring the financial performance of various projects undertaken by AECOM. 


Ruby mackinnon, communications director

Ruby currently works as a Rail Communications Advisor at Metro Trains Melbourne, where she supports the Metro Trains team in the implementation of communications and stakeholder relations strategy for the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP).

Jonathan is an associate for Advisian, and has more than 6 years in project and construction management in Victoria and interstate. Jonathan has delivered a broad range of projects in rail construction and operation sector, managing multi-disciplinary projects as client, contractor and Superintendent.



James works for Metro Trains Melbourne as a Project Engineer in the Rail Systems Team of the Southern Program Alliance (LXRP). The program is working to remove level crossings from the Frankston corridor.

He has worked in rail since mid-2014, and has been involved in a range of rail works including the management of the Remote Isolation System project, and the development of the WaveTrain concept for MTM.



Asimina is currently in her 3rd year of the Metro Trains Melbourne Graduate Program. She graduate as a Mechanical Engineer and has rotated through Rolling Stock, Infrastructure, Projects, Operations, Safety and Network Development. She is finishing her program in Engineering.
