All YTP activities are planned and executed by a voluntary committee. The committee is voted in once per year by the membership base. The below committee is the fourth elected since the group was founded in 2014.
Asimina vanderwert, president
Asimina is currently a Production Manager in the Electrical Networks Department, Infrastructure at Metro Trains Melbourne (Metro). Previously Asimina completed the Graduate Program at Metro where she rotated through different departments, including Rolling Stock, Projects Development and Delivery, Infrastructure and Engineering.
victoria burke, secretary
Victoria is a 3rd year Civil Engineering Graduate at Metro Trains Melbourne. Victoria has completed rotations in Rolling Stock, working on the Comeng fleet, Projects, working on the Bayswater Level Crossing Removal Project, Infrastructure, in the Structures and Facilities and Track departments and is now working in the Engineering department.
LIAM IRVINE, TREASURER
Liam is a Mechanical Engineer working within Advisian’s Rolling Stock team. He has a background in train testing, vehicle dynamic modelling, FEA and other numerical analysis. Liam has previously worked for Bombardier and WorleyParsons.
Ruby mackinnon, communications Coordinator
Ruby currently works as a Rail Communications Advisor at Metro Trains Melbourne, where she supports the Metro team in the development and delivery of communications and stakeholder relations strategy for Level Crossing Removal Projects (LXRP). Ruby delivered rail communications on the Hurstbridge line as part of the North Eastern Program Alliance, and is now working on the North Western Program Alliance delivering the Buckley Street Level Crossing Removal.

Callum is a first-year Graduate Engineer at Metro Trains Melbourne.
Emily White, PARTNERSHIPS coordinator
Emily is a Transport Planner in Jacobs’ Buildings and Infrastructure business, with experience in both the UK and Australia.
Since joining Jacobs, she has been primarily involved in the delivery of traffic and transportation projects for diverse public sector clients, developing a broad knowledge of transportation planning and policy, road safety, assessment and appraisal. She is currently involved in undertaking feasibility and assessment studies and the development of integrated transport strategies.
Michael weel, MEMBERSHIP Engagement coordinatoR
Michael is currently a Rolling Stock Engineer at Jacobs with experience working on freight, passenger heavy rail and light rail vehicles. As part of his role, Michael is involved with a variety of engineering projects including conducting structural assessments, implementing vehicle modifications, conducting vehicle testing, and providing general project engineering support. Michael has worked with clients including Metro Trains Melbourne, Yarra Trams, Bombardier, Downer and V/Line.
Thanh ho, MEMBERShip coordinator
Thanh is a Graduate Engineer at Rail Projects Victoria working on the Metro Tunnel Project and the Regional Rail Revival. Having worked in both the light rail and heavy rail industries, she has been involved in the development and delivery of various infrastructure projects.
JORDAN hannagan, EVENTS coordinator
Jordan is a graduate Traction and Rolling Stock engineer at Jacobs, currently in his third year in the industry. In this time he has worked on a wide range of projects including full-vehicle static/dynamic simulations, fatigue life assessments, maintenance auditing and in-service dynamic testing
